FORMAT
This year's championship, hosted by The Edison Club in Rexford (Section 2), is contested over two 18-hole rounds (36 holes) of individual stroke play. There are three competitions being conducted:

  • #1 - Individual: The golfer with the lowest score after 36 holes will be the individual champion.
  • #2 - Section Team: The Section Team with the lowest 36 hole score will be the champion. Each section's team score will consist of the low seven of nine scores from each round.
  • #3 - High School Team: The High School Team with the lowest 36 hole score will be the champion. Each High School's Team score will consist of the low four scores from each round. The High School Teams competing are Scarsdale (I), The Albany Academies (2), Rome Free Academy (III), Lansing (IV), Our Lady of Mercy (V), Clarence (VI), Great Neck (VIII), Marlboro (IX), and Southampton (XI)

 

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

  • Sat, June 1 ........... Practice Round
  • Sun, June 2 .......... R1 (11am from tees #1 & #10)
  • Mon, June 3.......... R2 (9am shotgun)

 

2023 CHAMPIONS
Kennedy Swedick (Albany Academy for Girls) won the 2023 NYSPHSAA Girls Golf Championship by 7-strokes with rounds of 70-69 (-5). Section 1 captured the Section Title, finishing at +82 (1090), 9-strokes ahead of Section 2. The Albany Academy for Girls won the High School Team Title, finishing with +65 (641), 21-strokes better than Ursuline.

The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) is a non-profit educational service organization composed of public, parochial, and private schools dedicated to providing equitable and safe competition for students of its member schools.

REMINDERS FOR SPECTATORS

The NFHS Network is the official streaming partner of the NYSPHSAA State Championships. They own exclusive rights to all NYSPHSAA State Tournament events (Sub-Regional, Regional, Semifinals and Finals).

 

Broadcasting or streaming a NYSPHSAA state championship of any kind (including social media accounts) is a violation of that agreement. Anyone not adhering to that policy will be asked to stop immediately.
